TechCrunch50 is a conference with the goal of finding the best start-ups and launch them in front of our industry’s most influential VCs, corporations, fellow entrepreneurs and press.
I’m always excited to learn about new startups and technology ideas. That’s why I’ve been obsessed with listening/watching the TechCrunch50 stream online today. Yes, I was there virtually!
Of the ones I saw, I thought BlahGirls, Angstro, DotSpots, and OtherInbox were the more interesting startups.
BlahGirls had an amusing introduction that got my attention. Their cartoon poked fun of Jason and Michael! Ashton Kutcher introduced a website geared towards teens that I thought was an awesome idea, enough though wouldn’t use the product. My favorite part is the customized comment reply.
I liked the idea of Angstro being able to pull up news of every article written about Robert Scoble. :) He’s already hard to keep track of as it is.
DotSpots is like a wikipedia for news websites. News articles are broadcast over various websites. If you wanted to annotate the article, you can do it easily with DotSpots. With this software, you annotation would be posted on every site the news article appears. This is a great way for you to improve and influence the mainstream news.
Other Inbox is the cure for email overload. It allows you to have multiple email addresses instantly that you can use to filter all kinds of things. With all the multiple email accounts, you still have one single interface to help you sort through items that you may find more important.
If you’re interested in hearing about new startups, join me in the chatroom for the next two days!
Andrew Mager has some amazing TechCrunch50 Day 1 coverage also.
