Pattie Maes from MIT, talks about a technology that can act as our Sixth Sense.

“It’s a wearable device with a projector that paves the way for profound interaction with our environment. Imagine “Minority Report” and then some.

I loved the technology in “Minority Report” and seeing it come to life in the near future is quite amazing. Watch the video to see what may be in our lives in the near future.

Daynah at work

Today was just the typical day at work. I just juggling a few web projects, but decided to take a short break. Some people asked me about my setup… so here it is pictured above. I definitely use all three Dell monitors to its full capacity. First monitor is mainly for viewing websites in different browsers, I code in the second one, and the third is for my email and calendar. What is your setup like?

Tech BooksThese are some of my archaic technology books that I bought. Now I just read everything at safari.oreilly.com!

You can also read Safari books on your iphone/ipod touch using the new Safari Bookbag app. I have yet to try it out. I’ll be sure to review it once I do!

Currently, I’m reading The iPhoneâ„¢ Developer’s Cookbook: Building Applications with the iPhone SDK. You can view a list of my tech books at goodreads. I’ll be updating this list soon!

What old tech books do you have lying around?

Gmail - Girlie Theme

I love the new themes in Gmail! My favorite one to look at is the Candy theme. But I find reading my emails with it distracting. I’m currently using BubbleGum for my mail. ;) What about you?

Gmail Video Chat

Calling on Google Talk Video Talking on Google Talk VideoI finally got the chance to test out Gmail Video Chat today. I wanted to the other day, but the option didn’t appear on my account until earlier this morning.

I first tried to call @evansims, but his speakers were muted, so he didn’t hear! So that’s me waiting by the gTalk for him to pick up.

@davecurlee saw my tweet about testing Gmail Video Chat. So we logged on and played with it.

@resawu also helped me test it out for about a minute! But homework was calling her. ;)

And my college friend, Jimmy, also showed me around his new place via Gmail Video. That was pretty neat.

Video is very clear in the little chat box. If you hover on the top left and click on the arrow, you can maximize the video! Pretty neat. It may be a little pixelated though, depending on your monitor size. Your video on the bottom right side can also be moved around.

It is somewhat of a bandwidth and memory hog, but an amazing addition to the web app nevertheless. I can’t wait to see this implemented into the Google Talk client version.

To install the plugin, go to the Gmail Video Chat.

ps. @davecurlee‘s chihuahua’s name is Leia!

The Guild

I just realized I never blogged about my favorite webisode! After seeing Mahalo Daily’s report on Comic-Con, I discovered an actress named Felicia Day who did a webisode series called The Guild.

I watched episode 10 one night and loved it. I ended up staying up the rest of the night to watch all 10 episodes! Totally loved it! The characters reminded me so much of my close friends!

The Guild is a independent sitcom webisode about a group of online gamers. It is written for gamers, about gamers by a gamer. Episodes vary from 3-6 minutes in length, and follow the Guild members’ lives online and offline.

“The Guild” is the winner of the YouTube and Yahoo 2007 Video Awards for Best Web Series, as well as recipient of the SXSW/On Networks 2007 Greenlight Award for Best Series.

Here are all 10 episodes. Let me know if you enjoyed it as much as me!

Chewbacca Plush Backpack

July 19, 2008 by

Every Star Wars fan needs one!

Without a doubt one of the coolest spacefarers of all times is Han Solo. There was just something about his swagger that made every girl fall in love with him and every guy want to be him (and let’s face it, some guys fell in love with him and some girls wanted to be him). But what really showed off Han’s true character his friendship with a certain fuzzball Chewbacca was always there to help out his best friend Han – and now Chewie’s ready to have your back, too. Literally.

Strap the Chewbacca Plush Backpack to your back and he’ll be carrying your books in style. His arms wrap around you to let you know he’s secure – even his legs will secure around your abdomen, for some extra cuddly fun. Who needs real friends when you have a Chewie on your back? And there are two extra features the Chewbacca Backpack has to offer. First, his bandoleer bag can hold some smaller accessories such as cables, business cards, or Ewok jerky. And second, there can be no bigger thrill than asking someone if they want to pet your Wookiee. Trust us – it’ll get you smiles every time.

Buy this at ThinkGeek!

Thanks for the find Mona!
