Here’s a video footage of our meetup just outside of the conference area.

I’m going to the New Media Expo next week! Are you?!
This Expo is a hands-on, exciting, “how-to” event with practical conference sessions about how to produce high-quality online audio and video content, grow a loyal audience, and even make a few bucks with your content in creative ways.
I’m super excited! Recently I’ve been learning how to create and edit videos, but there’s still always a lot more to learn!
Michael Fortson, a Qik developer, announced earlier today that Qik is now has support for the iPhone, bringing the full Qik experience to legions of iPhone fans the world over.

That’s just amazing! That also means there will be a lot more Qikkers soon! I love this piece of software because it just brings you a step closer to your friends and family.
And I can’t forget to mention that I just love the new and improve Qik website. It looks beautiful! Here’s my Qik Profile. Unfortunately, there won’t be any updates for a while.. not until Qik is completely working on all Windows CE phones. I’m back to my T-Mobile Shadow.
I did a 45-minute Wii Fit workout today, and then decided to sit in my computer chair for a few hours to make this video. ;) Enjoy! And yes I know I sound tired.

I was watching Loaded and learned that there’s a competitor for the FlipVideo! It’s called the Creative Vado Pocket Video Cam. It looks very sleek and nice. I’m sure it’s great, but my worry is the battery. If the battery doesn’t work anymore, you probably have to throw away the whole device.
I’m torn between the two, but I’ll wait to see if flip Video ultra comes up with another version soon.
I’ve been using Qik on my Nokia N95 for two weeks now, and I throughly enjoy this software.
The support team is very fast at responding to problems and questions. And as if being able to stream your life isn’t amazing enough, watching others stream theirs is incredible. I’ve been able to attend Google Campfire One with Robert Scoble and Michael Arrington virtually. It’s pretty neat to see two different camera angles of the same event too. I felt like I was there.
Qik has been working on a few new features. The one I really love is the ability to follow people! It’s a great feature, especially since I love going to these geek meetings virtually, or see when my friends are online and streaming. That’s my friend, Bhaskar. ;) (Say hi Bhaskar!)
Here is everyone I follow so far. But I have no followers. If you would like to add me, I’m at qik.com/daynah
Qik is very easy to use, and it’s so amazing! I downloaded the software to my Nokia N95 and was ready to go. I tested it a few times yesterday. There seems to be a lot of lag when I have the images set to Normal or High quality. There’s less lag on Low, but everything is pixelated. Sigh. I think it’s the connection of my provider. I do love the chat feature on this. All the messages typed from the website appears on the phone! I’ll be testing it again soon. You can see live videos later at qik.com/daynah
Very funny, funny video. It’s about Social Networking websites; sure to make you smile. Warning, may not be appropriate for minors.
Thanks for the link Julie!
Is there any way to comment on the Qik website without having a camera/phone with Qik capabilities? I tried to sign up, but it wants to send the application to my phone. Also, how do Qik & Qik Devices work? Do you have to buy a data plan that’s separate from your iphone?
Thanks Cali for clearing up my Qik questions for me!
I took a Rubber stamping class this weekend (yes, I’m also a crafty person!) and thought it’d be kind of funny if I could videotape what I did and show people what I made in class. So I took my Canon Powershot SD 7000 IS and this nifty small Aryca D-Pod I bought in Akihabara, Japan last year.
So this was my little set up. Isn’t it the cutest? I kind of wish I bought a few more to give out as gifts!
I’m not a video editor at all, so we’ll see what I come up with. I’m currently learning how to use Adobe Premier Elements. Wish me luck!

Justine is so creative! I had the opportunity of watching her edit this video. And it was worth the wait to see it all finished this morning! Check it out! It’s a spoof of Madonna’s new song.
Lyrics by iJustine:
I’m out of time and all I got is 4 minutes x2
Come on store, I’m waiting for my new download to go
Well, I don’t have time, you will be mine,
Wanna play my new show
Speed up my server, It’s downloading Just too damn slow,
I need my new show
Just wanna see Jack, Gotta catch up Where’s the hatch?
Are you ready to go? x2
If you bought it, You already got it
If you bought it, It better be what you want
If you steal it, Don’t be a thief
Get on iTunes, It’ll give you what you want
Downloading..You only got 4 minutes to save this file
Downloading.. iPod iPhone
I’m currently watching a Mobuzz episode called “Women in Technology,” and I’m happy to hear that the number of IT Women out there is increasing. It’s also very nice to see that my two favorite IT girls were mentioned in this video — Cali Lewis and iJustine.
I remember how low the numbers were when I was in college. I could count all the female engineering students in my year on my two hands! Yes, that included Computer Science and all Engineering majors!
I enjoyed this webisode, thanks for the link, Jeff!

I’m currently watching Dr. Brown’s Photoshop Training videos. He’s so funny, and makes learning fun. :)

It looks like Flickr now has Video as of today! But read the rules before you start uploading content. Videos are to be under 90 seconds that you have created yourself. They’re going for the “long photo” feel.

If you find yourself asking this question: “What is this Twitter that Daynah keeps talking about?”
Then not to worry! Instead of having me try to explain it, the good people at Common Craft have already done that in a nice understandable video. Click below to view.

I have a colleague who’s trying to understand the concept of RSS. I helped him set up a blog for his newsletter a while ago, and his supervisor wanted him to add RSS to it.
I explained RSS to him a few times, and I think he got it. But a visual explanation never hurts! This is a lovely video from Common Craft does very well in explaining RSS in simple English.
