Are you in need of a good graphics software? Does the cost of softwares like Adobe Photoshop and JASC Paintshop Pro make you hesitant about purchasing a graphics software? Not to worry, there’s a software out there that is comparable Photoshop and PSP, but will cost you absolutely nothing. It’s called The GIMP.
GIMP is an open source graphics editor originally created for linux operating systems. But recently, it has been exported to Windows. This tool is perfect for basic editing of images including cropping, screen capturing, rotating, and resizing. In addition to the basic functions, you can also use filters and plugins, as well as save/export images in a variety for formats, such as gif, jpegs, and png. Other key features include painting, advanced file manipulation, animation, and much, much more.
If you haven’t tried it yet, I suggest you download a copy today. You’ll need both the GTK+ 2 and the GIMP executable itself. If GIMP is good enough for Scooby Doo, it can be good enough for you too. :) You can find more examples of GIMP creations here.
